Taking your first step

Agreeing to and accepting counselling is a huge step forwards for many people and a courageous one. Acknowledging a problem and talking through possible ways forward that feels right for you can provide a deeper understanding of awareness which can create positive changes in your life.

I offer an initial assessment that lasts up to 50 minutes. This session provides an opportunity to decide together if further counselling will help you and if you would like to enter into a counselling relationship with me.

During this session, I am interested in hearing your story in your words. However, I may ask questions to clarify anything I don’t understand. I will ask if you have had counselling before, why you have come to see me and what you hope to achieve. I may also ask questions to learn about your family, schooling, work, relationships and health. 

I will explain client confidentiality and when I am legally bound by a court of law to disclose certain information. 

About 10 to 15 minutes before ending, we will discuss how you have found your first session. You will also have the opportunity to raise any questions you might have. If we agree to continue, we will discuss how often and when we will meet, the expected duration of our work, notification of cancelled sessions, fees and payment options. If we decide not to work together, we can explore alternative options that you may find more suitable.

Fees

£45.00 - Standard session for individual counselling for 50 minute sessions

£60.00 - Standard fees for individual counselling for 90 minute sessions

£35.00 - Student in counselling training for 50 minute sessions

I offer Online Therapy evening appointments from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

Cancellation

Should you need to cancel I require 48 hours notice as any later than this I would have to charge 50 % of the agreed session price
